Completion and Handover of the Njathaini Primary School Ablution Block

On 25th February 2025, the Njathaini Primary School celebrated the completion and official handover of its newly constructed ablution block. The facility, designed to serve the Grade 1 to 4 pupils as well as children with disabilities, is now fully operational and available for use. This project marks a significant milestone in enhancing the school's infrastructure and overall learning environment. The completion of the ablution block brings multiple benefits to the school, notably in the area of public health. Prior to the construction of the sanitation system, open-flow sewerage had been a major challenge, flowing freely through the school’s assembly point. This situation posed serious health risks and was an impediment to the children’s safety and well-being. However, with the new ablution block in place, the sewerage problem has been fully addressed, ensuring a cleaner and safer environment for the entire school community. The handover ceremony was an exciting event, witnessed by enthusiastic parents, teachers, and pupils, all of whom expressed their joy and appreciation for the new facility. The project has undoubtedly had a great impact, improving hygiene and fostering a more conducive learning environment for the students. This significant upgrade will support the school’s efforts in providing better education and ensuring the well-being of all its pupils, especially those with disabilities. The Njathaini Primary School Ablution Block project is a vital development that reflects the community’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure and public health.

AIC Kajiado Borehole Project

Residents of AIC Kajiado Childcare Centre are set to benefit from a water supply project geared towards equipping of a borehole and implementation of a drip irrigation system within the Centre. The system will enhance the efficiency of farming practices, contributing to the production of nutritious and ample food resources at the center hence supporting the well-being of the children. Thanks to the generous support from the Rotary Foundation and international partners, the Global grant for this initiative has received approval. On Monday, December 18th, 2023, members of the Project Committee held a kick-off and site handover meeting with both the contractors responsible for the project and the beneficiaries, AIC Kajiado Childcare Centre. Partnership in practice

Good work grows when the right people work together.

The project story says pupils had been walking about one kilometre to fetch water. The club worked with Rotary Club of Nairobi Lang’ata and Davis & Shirtliff to install a solar-powered pump and elevated storage tanks.
